As of this article’s publication date, 30 September 2026, OpenAI lets advertisers buy ads in ChatGPT from 63 countries. The list changes often: seven Asian markets were added in September alone. To see where it stands today, check OpenAI’s official availability page, which is the one that gets updated.

The 63 countries as of publication

This is the list from OpenAI’s Ads Manager availability page as it stood when this article was published, grouped by region:

  • Americas (4): Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the United States.
  • Europe (32): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
  • Middle East (11): Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
  • North Africa (4): Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
  • Asia-Pacific (12): Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

What it means for a country to be available

OpenAI’s list shows where its Ads Manager can be used self-serve, and the condition is set by the business, not the audience: the legal entity that advertises and is billed must be based in one of those countries. In some newer European markets, OpenAI also works through its sales team and agency or technology partners.

On the user side, ads appear on the Free and Go plans. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu accounts have no ads, and ads are not shown to accounts identified as belonging to people under 18. In the European Economic Area and Switzerland, OpenAI says personalised ads are not available for now.

What about Latin America?

Brazil and Mexico are the only Latin American countries on the list. Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay and the rest of the region are not, and OpenAI has not announced dates.

If your business is based in a country that is not listed, you can still create an account in OpenAI’s Ads Manager: according to its availability page, OpenAI will notify you when your country opens. Bear in mind that for self-serve access what counts is where the billing entity is based, not which countries you sell to. Larger advertisers can contact OpenAI’s sales team to discuss other options.

How to check the up-to-date list

  1. Go to OpenAI’s Ads Manager availability page.
  2. Find your country: if it is marked “Available”, you can already advertise self-serve.
  3. If it is not listed, create the account anyway so OpenAI can notify you when it opens.
  4. For new market launches, follow OpenAI’s blog, where each expansion is announced.
